Remember last week when I told you guys how much I loved and obsessed over Game Day food? Yep, still true. Game Day is one of my favorite things ever. There's nothing like getting a bunch of people together to collectively cheer on your favorite teams and it's almost even better when you're cheering for opposing teams! A little friendly competition never hurt anybody 😉 Today I wanted to share this bacon wrapped jalapenos recipe with you because Game Day food is still on my mind, and I mean seriously, does it get better than bacon, spicy, and cheesy? No, it doesn't!
I never used to like jalapenos, but I really started to love them this summer when I was able to grow them in our garden. Something about fresh jalapenos just changes a meal! I fell in love with them, and now I'll basically eat them on everything from salads to sandwiches to burgers, and the obvious, nachos! These bacon wrapped jalapenos though, they're a game-changer - no pun intended (kidding, puns are always intended on this blog). I hope you'll love them as much as I do! They're great for things besides game day too. They're basically the perfect appetizer! They're great for summer barbeques, holiday parties, birthday parties, and more! People will be begging for the recipe after you make these once, trust me!
All you really need for this recipe is a good baking sheet, and a nice wire rack! I of course always have a nice wire rack on hand because... well, cookies. But that's not the point! These are my favorites on Amazon if you decide to pick one up. Funny story, I actually have had the same baking sheets since... I don't know, forever? But I recently got a new one, and both Husbear and I call it "the shiny one" and it's so weird to have a new, shiny baking sheet! 10/10 do recommend though.
This is a fairly simple recipe, but I'll walk you through it anyhow, just in case!
I start by halving the jalapenos and scooping out the seeds and membrane in the middle. The seeds are spicier, but not necessary for this recipe as you'll want maximum cheese room for stuffing them with cheese, trust me.
After I've got them scooped out and all my ingredients out, ready to go, I make the cheese mixture. I mix the cream cheese, shredded cheese, and garlic together until it's well blended. It makes the YUMMIEST filling ever!
After that, I wrap each of the jalapeno halves in a half slice of bacon. A full slice of bacon is too much, so a half slice is perfect for these. I personally like to use uncured all natural bacon, but it's really up to preference for this. After all, it's not like this is an extraordinarily healthy recipe, so I suppose it doesn't matter much, just that that's what I'm used to buying these days!
Finally, I stick 'em in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the bacon is cooked through and the cheese is thoroughly melted! Then, serve with ranch. Because let's be honest, is any appetizer really complete without ranch? Not in my house 😉

Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos
These bacon wrapped jalapenos are perfect for game day, holiday parties, summer barbecues, or any other get togethers where you need an amazing appetizer recipe!
- 10 jalapenos halved
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cup fiesta blend shredded cheese
- 2 cloves garlic made into a paste
- 10 slices bacon halved
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet. Grease the foil and the wire rack. Or you can use a well-greased broiler pan.
2. Halve the jalapenos and scoop out the seeds and the membrane.
3. Mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, and garlic until they are well combined.
4. Fill the hollowed out jalapeno halves with the cheese mixture.
5. Wrap each cheese filled jalapeno half with half a slice of bacon.
6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until bacon is crispy.
7. Serve immediately with ranch.
